AAOS is seeking trauma surgeons, pediatric orthopaedists, and nurses who are willing to go to Haiti. They are also seeking donations of medical equipment. Details are posted on their website at www.aaos.org/haiti.
Doctors Without Borders
While Doctors Without Borders is currently utilizing their existing pool of aid workers for the Haiti earthquake, they are always seeking applications for qualified medical professionals to work in the field in Haiti or more than 60 other countries. Center for International Disaster Information
Visit their website at www.cidi.org for guidance on appropriate disaster relief and to register any goods or services you have to offer.
American Red Cross
You can make a cash donation to the Red Cross’s International Relief Fund by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS or visiting our local chapter’s website at www.midfloridaredcross.org. Mobile donors can text “Haiti” to 90999 to send a $10 donation to the Red Cross with the funds going to support the relief efforts in Haiti.
